Below are a selection of logos I’ve created over the years for various employer and freelance customers (said freelancing not noted in the Resume due to its sporadic nature over the years), as well as a few for my own personal projects. Most of these logos have been designed with their end use case firmly in mind, as many were intended for use on event or hobby league sports team T-shirts, and others for pole sign usage.
KNOWING THE "STEPS" OF
T-SHIRT PRINTING
For most of the designs intended directly for T-shirt use, especially those intended for smaller use, the processes of the printing had to be firmly considered throughout the process. Often times this would involve shrinking the areas that would receive print by as much as a millimeter as to allow for the “stepping” process in garment screen printing (which might sometimes even include laying layers upon others that have not yet been flash dried. Careful consideration was taken to recognize who inks may react to each other; Light inks are usually thicker and dry slower but are necessary as backing for other colors depending on the nature of the fabric being printed upon, where darker inks can often times be quite thin and runny. Sometimes I would even be asked to create the screen layouts to be used in the screen printing process.

DRAFT VERSIONS
El Rey primarily markets itself as a “family” chain with a Latin focus, often going so far as to hold events in their parking lots intended as entertainment for their customer base (small fair-like festivals, lucha libre wrestling matches, etc). It is because of this fact that La Loteria was chosen as the bumper’s design theme, as the game has become a cornerstone of Latin American family culture over the generations. Further, though less obsequious, branding considerations were implemented in the “backs” of the card deck, as the colors and even some of the symbols of the back pattern, have an association with the El Rey brand; including, of course, their logo.
